Davion Taylor
NFL Linebacker
In his own words…
On the Field
After receiving no college football offers coming out of high school, Davion Taylor walked on at Coahoma Community College. After a standout season, Taylor received a scholarship from Colorado University, where he went on to start 24 games, recording 100 tackles and 18 sacks in two seasons. He was drafted in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft by the Philadelphia Eagles.
Off the Field
Taylor grew up in the Christian denomination of Commandment Keepers, which came with a strict adherence to the Sabbath. He cites prayer as his decision for continuing to play football, saying, “People ask me if I still struggle with playing on the Sabbath, and the answer is no. I truly feel like God wouldn’t have opened that path if He didn’t want me to take it.”
